Vitera Full Face Mask – Fisher & Paykel

Since full face masks for CPAP have more surface area than nasal masks, they can be a bit more challenging to fit. Fisher & Paykel’s new Vitera full face mask aims to put an end to leak chasing. The Vitera delivers stable, secure, dynamic support all night long so that you wake up rested. The Fisher & Paykel Vitera adapts with you as you move, regardless of how much you move. The Vitera’s RollFit XT seal and low-profile stability bar sync with its breathable headgear to keep you cool, comfortable, and in your sleep therapy zone all night.

Features

  • Designated mask fitting guide App for iOS and Android phone
  • A full face mask design that fits most people
  • Auto-adjusting fit to reduce leak and reduce pressure on the nose
  • Headgear wicks moisture and heat

Unsure about your cushion size?
The Fit Pack includes one cushion in each available size for this mask, allowing you to try them at home and choose the most comfortable fit, while all other mask components are provided in the size you select.

Features

Here are some product details that make the Fisher & Paykel Evora Full Face CPAP mask worth wearing:

  • Under-the-nose seal design that provides a clear line of sight and minimizes facial contact
  • Dynamic Support Technology™ with Stability Wings that support the floating seal for comfortable, secure positioning
  • VentiCool™ breathable headgear that allows heat and moisture to dissipate throughout the night, so you can sleep freely without overheating
  • Minimal full-face design combining soft, thin silicone cushioning with a lightweight, structured mask frame for stable sealing that's unique to the Evora full face mask

These features combine to make the Evora full-face CPAP mask one of the most comfortable full-face masks available for sleep apnea therapy.

Comfortable Seal

Soft, thin silicone sits comfortably under your nose to minimize pressure, while the structured frame provides a stable seal. The innovative under-the-nose seal design of the Evora full face mask prevents pressure on sensitive nasal bridge areas, ensuring comfort throughout your therapy.

The structured frame's design distributes pressure evenly across the floating seal, reducing red marks and discomfort even during extended wear. This minimal contact approach means less facial pressure and greater overall comfort.

Minimal Design

The minimal design of the under-the-nose seal provides a clear line of sight and unobstructed vision. This innovative approach makes the Evora full face mask perfect for users who want to read, watch TV, or wear glasses before bed without obstruction.

Unlike traditional full face CPAP mask designs that sit on the bridge of the nose, this under the nose placement offers superior comfort and visibility.

Sleep Quietly

Designed to minimize noise for a good night's sleep. The Evora full face mask features carefully engineered ventilation that diffuses air gently and quietly, reducing CPAP noise that can disturb both you and your bed partner.

The quiet operation of the Evora full face CPAP mask helps create a peaceful sleep environment, allowing you to sleep freely without the distraction of loud air venting. Many users report that the Evora is one of the quietest masks they've used, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night.

Breathable Comfort

The mask headgear with VentiCool™ technology allows heat and moisture to escape from the head for a comfortable night's sleep. This innovative breathable headgear sets a new standard for comfort, helping you stay cool and dry throughout your sleep therapy session.

The advanced fabric construction of the full face mask headgear promotes optimal airflow, so you can sleep freely without waking up to adjust your mask due to heat buildup or sweaty straps during your CPAP therapy.

FAQs

How does the removable frame clip work on the Evora full face mask?

The removable frame clip allows you to quickly disconnect your CPAP tubing from the structured frame without removing the mask from your face. Simply squeeze the clip to release the tubing connection. This feature is especially helpful for nighttime bathroom trips or when you need to disconnect from CPAP therapy briefly.

Can I sleep on my side with this full face CPAP mask?

Absolutely! The Evora is specifically designed to accommodate side sleepers. The under-the-nose seal and flexible mask frame work together to maintain a secure seal even when you're sleeping on your side. The Dynamic Support Technology allows the mask to move with you, so you can sleep freely in any position.

Is the Evora full face mask suitable for people who wear glasses?

Yes! The under-the-nose cushion design provides excellent clearance for eyeglasses. You can comfortably wear your glasses while wearing the mask, making it perfect for reading or watching TV before bed. The minimal contact design ensures your glasses won't interfere with the mask's seal.

How do I know which seal size is right for me?

We recommend starting with the FitPack option, which includes all three soft, thin silicone seal sizes (Extra Small, Small to Medium, and Large). This allows you to try each size to find the perfect fit. The correct size should create a comfortable seal without excessive full-face mask headgear tightening.

RollFit XT seal conforms again and again for your comfort

The RollFit XT seal is an update to the RollFit seal used in prior generations of Fisher & Paykel masks. The clever engineering of Fisher & Paykel’s RollFit XT seal minimizes the need to overtighten the headgear in response to leaks. The cushion gently rocks back and forth at the bridge of the nose as you move. By automatically adapting the angle of the mask, the RollFit XT design blocks any significant gaps without the need to tighten headgear. The rocking action of the seal automatically reduces pressure on the bridge of the nose. The cushion also has strategically located thickened and thinned sections to enhance comfort and support. The RollFit XT seal extends 93% further than the RollFit cushion did and is also deeper and narrower around the nasal bridge. These updates allow the cushion to fit a broader range of face shapes and further minimize leaks out the top of the cushion into the eyes. Three sizes are available for the Vitera: Small, Medium, and Large.

Stability bar delivers dynamic support

The RollFit XT seal works in tandem with the stability bar to continually fine-tune and optimize the Vitera’s mask fit. The stability bar runs from the top of the nasal cushion to the center of the forehead. The stability bar relies on a wide anchoring zone defined by the top and bottom straps of the headgear. The broader zone of support gives the RollFit XT seal the space it needs to roll and adjust to keep the mask reliably seated regardless of the user’s position.

VentiCool headgear keeps you cool and dry with a personalized fit

The Vitera’s adjustable headgear features VentiCool fabric, a custom-made breathable cloth. The VentiCool fabric allows heat and moisture to escape to keep you cool and dry, especially behind the head. The headgear attaches to the Vitera’s frame with clips with tactile grips, so it’s a cinch to reach behind the ear to find them. The headgear comes in two sizes (Small and Medium/Large) with a forehead strap and a crown strap so that you can adjust the fit to be just right for you. After your good night’s rest, take the headgear off and clip the forehead straps together with Vitera’s unique forehead clip so that you are not untangling the headgear at bedtime.

Selecting the right size mask and headgear is critical to your comfort and satisfaction with any sleep apnea mask. Overtightening any mask can make leaks worse. Thanks to the components of the RollFit XT seal, the Vitera does not need to be super snug against the face. Users should be able to pull the mask gently away from the face without removing the headgear.

The appropriately sized full-face mask should sit below the mouth and at the bridge of the nose. The mask should not be in the eyes or on the lower lip. A sizing guide is available to hold against the face. The Vitera mask retains the VisiBlue highlights introduced in other models of Fisher & Paykel CPAP masks. Blue color cues placed at crucial places on the mask and headgear orient you quickly to the mask, making it easier to put on. You will not wonder if it is backward, inside out, or upside down.

To get the best performing fit, follow these steps in order:

  1. With one side of the headgear unclipped from the frame, place the silicone seal over the mouth and nose.
  2. Pull the headgear over the head.
  3. Hook the headgear clip to the frame.
  4. First, adjust the bottom gray straps to secure the cushion under the mouth.
  5. Next, adjust the blue forehead straps to secure the cushion gently against the nose.

Pro Tip: The blue forehead straps should rest above the ears. The crown strap can be adjusted to get the blue forehead straps properly positioned.

Make additional adjustments to the straps once you are in a sleeping position with the CPAP machine turned on. If you find that you must overtighten the headgear, consider a different size seal or different size headgear.

Cleaning

Recommended cleaning frequency

  • Daily: nasal cushion and frame including elbow, swivel, and clips
  • Weekly: headgear

Please note: the elbow and swivel do not detach from the mask frame.

Cleaning Process:

  1. Wash in warm soapy water using a mild dish soap.
  2. Rinse thoroughly in clean water.
  3. All parts should be air-dried out of direct sunlight.

Important: Do not clean with products containing alcohol, scents, antibacterial agents, antiseptics, bleach, chlorine, or moisturizers. Do not soak any parts for more than 10 minutes.

Operating Range: 4-30 cm H20

FAQ

Can I interchange some parts from my other Fisher & Paykel masks with the Vitera mask?
No. The Vitera is designed to work only with its own seal, headgear, and frame. Mixing and matching parts from different models of masks (even from the same manufacturer) result in frustration at best but can also be dangerous.

My doctor keeps recommending that I wear a full face mask, but I have not found one that keeps air out of my eyes. Will the Vitera help with this problem?
The RollFit XT seal and the stability bar work together to balance the mask on the bridge of the nose. This synchrony seals the cushion at the top and keeps air from escaping toward the eyes. The forehead strap that fits just above the ears pulls the mask toward the tip of the nose as well. A crown strap lets you get that forehead strap into just the right position so that it also helps keep a seal on top of the cushion.

Often the best way to resolve a leak is to lift the cushion off the face and reseat it gently. Reseating smooths out cushion wrinkles.

Since the mask covers my mouth, will I be ok if my CPAP machine stops working?
The Vitera has exhaust ports on the cushion and side vents on the elbow. Also, the headgear should be worn loose enough that you can pull the mask away from your face without unhooking a clip or removing the headgear.
